Choosing Your Accounting Software

Upon landing on the Routeique™ dashboard, click the gear icon on the left hand navigation bar. Select 'Financial Hub - Setup'. 

Select the Xero icon and click 'Link' to begin the on-boarding process.

You will be taken to the login page of your accounting software. Please sign in and select the appropriate company you wish to sync from the drop-down menu click on Next, then click Connect on the following page. 

If you have chosen to use a different Financial Hub option, you can follow the altered user guide of QuickBooks Online or Export instead.

Taxes and Terms

Now that your accounting software is linked to Routeique™, the next step is to associate Xero taxes and terms with Routeique™ taxes and terms so that you always push the correct information to your accounting software. 

Payment Terms 

First, associate the Routeique™ payment terms with Xero's payment terms. Once you have associated all the terms you would like, click 'Link' to begin connecting terms.  

Once terms have been linked successfully, select 'here' to move onto the next step.

Customer and Product Tax Terms

After you've made payment term associations, you will need for do the same for taxes on both Customers and Products. 

Tax Rates

Lastly, you need to associate Routeique™ tax rates with Xero's tax rates. 

Linking Customers

Now that your account is linked to Routeique™, the next step is to link your customers. 

Before you start linking customers, it's advised that you make sure customers found in your Xero application are cleaned and ready to be imported. If there is missing information from your Xero customer information, the customer may not get imported. Don't worry though, the system will let you know! 

To ensure your customers are ready to be imported, you will need to fill out both address fields. If the customer does not have a valid address, the import will fail so fill in both the Street and Postal address properly. 

Please note that in order to properly locate your customers, country name will need to be fully spelt out properly or follow the ISO 3166-1 Alpha-2 or ISO 3166-1 Alpha-3  standard (eg CA or CAN). Regional codes such as province will also need to follow ISO standards.

We also recommend filling out the following fields to be certain you have all the information you need to properly import into Routeique™.

  • Contact Name
  • Primary Person - first and last name
  • Email
  • Phone

If your customer information matches the above, importing should be seamless!

Select the customers you wish to link. Once only the customers you would like to link are selected, click 'Link'. If you choose not to sync any customers, a Skip button is available as well. If you choose to skip, or if you miss any customers, you cannot upload your customers at a later date. If you are going to use existing customers or products, we highly recommend syncing them now!

Note: When linking your customers, you must go through each page and select 'All' each time to link everything. Selecting 'All' on just one page will only link items from that specific page. 

Linking Products

Now that your customers have been imported, the next step is to link your products. 

Before you start linking products, it's advised that you make sure products found in your Xero application are cleaned and ready to be imported as well!

Only 'Name' is mandatory for the syncing, but without some of the other information, your products will not be complete in Routeique™ and may cause more work later. Routeique™ recommends filling out the following fields:

  • Item Code
  • Item Name
  • Unit Price

Now products are ready for import! 

Select the products you wish to link. Once only the products you would like to link are selected, click 'Link'. If you choose not to sync any products, a Skip button is available as well. If you choose to skip, or miss any products, you cannot upload your products at a later date. If you are going to use existing products, we highly recommend syncing them now!

Note: When linking your products, you must go through each page and select 'All' to link everything. Selecting 'All' on just one page will only link items from that specific page. 

Levies and Deposits 

Routeique™ has made it easier than ever to connect levies and deposits to your accounting software. During the on-boarding process, Routeique™ simply creates and pushes levies and deposits for you, so any product that has these additional features are already taken care of.

Completion

Xero is now officially linked to the Routeique™ platform!

Settings

Update Taxes and Terms 

Need to update your taxes and terms associations? You can easily do that in Routeique™.

Click on the 'Settings' tab in the left hand navigation menu. This may appear as a small gear in the bottom left hand corner of the screen. Click 'Financial Hub - Setup'. 

Click on the blue 'Advanced Options' link.

Once on the Advance Options page, you can use the drop downs to edit your payment term associations, customer tax associations, product tax associations, tax rates, and levy & deposit terms.
